Tuesday evening marked the exciting start of the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, a seminal moment for poker enthusiasts worldwide. The inaugural event for this year was the first start day of the $1,000 Mystery Millions, with a total of five start days scheduled throughout the tournament. Those lucky enough to remain in the competition will return on Sunday for the continuation of the tournament, where mysterious bounties will be awarded.

The first start day saw a total of 1,329 players participate, though no Dutch or Belgian players have been spotted so far. A total of 70 players managed to survive through the 22 levels of thirty minutes, including five-time bracelet winner Brian Yoon. Here’s a look at the top ten in chips:

2. Brian Yoon – 2,410,000 (60 Big Blinds)
3. Narcis Nedelcu – 2,335,000 (58 Big Blinds)
4. Zdenek Zizka – 1,835,000 (45 Big Blinds)
5. Ryan Otto – 1,780,000 (44 Big Blinds)
6. Sohale Khalili – 1,755,000 (43 Big Blinds)
7. Leo Lombardozzi – 1,740,000 (43 Big Blinds)
8. Daniel Pearlman – 1,735,000 (43 Big Blinds)
9. Jeffrey Extor – 1,655,000 (41 Big Blinds)
10. Joe Gardenhire – 1,425,000 (35 Big Blinds)

The second event that kicked off on Tuesday was Event #2, the $500 Industry Employees No-Limit Hold’em. This tournament was exclusively for players from the casino industry, attracting a total of 914 participants. Unfortunately, no players from our home country participated in this tournament. At the end of the opening day, 138 players remained, who will return on Wednesday to continue the battle. Shaun Colquhoun (895,000) will start the second day as the chip leader, followed by Andrew Vodinh (686,000) and John Vournas (593,000).
